Puffy Prom Dresses & Pain In My Pocketbook!!!

Hi Ya'll!!  I'm home & getting back into the swing of things!!
Kait & the boy are going to prom together in April so first thing today she had me out looking. I was shocked @ how much dresses cost these days... Pretty much every thing we saw was around $300.00. I will show ya one we looked at ( she didnt choose this one so I'll post it, we don't want the boy seeing it!!)
We didn't have it laced up tight so its a little poofy round the middle,
but it was a beautiful dress...
This is another one that she didn't try on but really likes..
We may go back tomorrow so that she can try it on, I really liked this!!.
The dress shop here
asked her which school's prom she's going to because she wont
sell the same dress to more than one girl going to that prom...
We thought that was a great idea!!!
Tonight they are having a formal dress show, so
she and I are going to look at more dresses!! Anyone wanna join us?
( I could sure use the help!!)
I'll take pics and show them on here tomorrow!
So are any of you getting ready for prom, we can chat!!
IM NOT READY for my baby to go.......
Okay, I better git so I can check & see what you
have all been up to...
I'll be back!!

$300!! Yikes. I think I paid somewhere around $180-200 for my senior prom dress and that was on the high end (I managed to save up for it from my part-time job at TJ Maxx).

Do they still only sell one dress per school at the shop? At least that's what they did with us, that way you stood a good chance of being the only girl wearing the dress (unless someone went to another store to get it, too).

The dress shop where I grew up did the same thing with the dresses. They did not want two girls wearing the same dress.

I paid $89 for my prom dress. I had to pay for it myself because my parents couldn't afford to buy me one. It was pretty but nothing fancy.

I hope she finds the perfect dress.

Ok, have you checked EBAY? We got daughter's for $87.00 last year...from Great Britain!!! That included the shipping! My very budget minded daughter got her dress at Ross Dress for Less for $25.00....we found the same dress at Dillard's for $100.00!!! Also, consignment.....no one wears their price tags on their dresses...so, who knows what you spend?

Dresses, proms, and boys! Oh My!
Hope you find a dress she likes and not to spendy as she will need to tan, jewels to go with the dress oh and an up-do.
Good Luck to you as you go grey. Thank Goodness for hair dye........LOL

Love that store owner for not selling the same dress, where do you live? Hollywood? It's so akward when two girls wear the same thing. I can't believe dresses are so much. I've heard the cost of prom for boys and girls is outrageous now days.
